Key Duties: Community Grants program Stark Family Fund grants program

Chara joined the team in June 2026. Most recently, she was with County Kids Read, where she served as Community Engagement Coordinator, overseeing the full administration of their core literacy programs, while acting as the primary point of contact for thirteen community partners and coordinating their volunteer team.

Prior to that, she worked as Connector Program Coordinator at the Valley Regional Enterprise Network in Nova Scotia, where she administered a government-funded regional budget, and recruited and managed a professional mentorship network of over a hundred community volunteers.

Her earlier experience includes a volunteer services role at the Greenwood Military Family Services, where she designed and directed structured programming for both adult and youth volunteers, as well as frontline public advisory work at the National Student Loan Service Centre, where she translated complex institutional policy into clear, empathetic guidance for clients navigating high-pressure situations.

Chara holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Waterloo, with minors in Public Policy and Administration, Legal Studies, and Speech Communication.
