Johnson, Johnston, MacRae's Bio

The Community Foundation’s main invested assets are managed by The Johnson, Johnston, and Macrae Investment Group at CIBC Private Wealth Wood Gundy.  With offices in Kingston and Toronto, and assets under management over $1 billion, striking the right balance between growing and safeguarding capital has been at the heart of The Johnson, Johnston, and Macrae Investment Group’s wealth management philosophy for more than four decades.

At The Johnson, Johnston and Macrae Investment Group all institutional portfolios are customized portfolios that are segregated (i.e. non-pooled), non-mutual-fund, and invested directly in the fixed income and equity markets. They work closely with their clients to preserve and grow capital through high-quality, liquid investments, matching cash needs with specific fixed-income maturities, while investing in high-quality, well-researched equities where permitted.

Land Acknowledgment

The Community Foundation for Kingston & Area is situated on Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat territory. We acknowledge the significance of this land and all that is within it for the Indigenous Peoples who lived and continue to live here and who are sustained by this land.

It is our understanding that this territory is part of the Dish with One Spoon Treaty between the Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee to share and protect this land. In the spirit of peace, friendship and respect, all subsequent Indigenous Nations and newcomers were invited into this living treaty to care for this land and its resources.

We affirm our commitment to continuously listen, learn, and honour Indigenous histories and perspectives as we work towards building a more resilient and welcoming community. We affirm our commitment to be a space for reconciliation in action.
