About Nan

Nan Yeomans was raised by a maiden aunt on a farm near Harrowsmith. Moving to Kingston in her twenties, she became a bookkeeper and commenced a lifetime of study in art including inspiring courses at Queen's University summer school. After a hiatus from art while she was involved in many community organizations, Nan began printmaking at St. Lawrence College. Printmaking would eventually become her medium of choice.

Nan's work covers a large range of mediums and subjects, each an example of her unique way of distilling what she observed and imagined. Her appreciation of our local natural and built environment is to be celebrated.

Nan's artwork reflects her love for nature and the Kingston area, and especially for her pets, including Tommie Turtle. She will always be remembered for her generosity towards others.
