New Fund will help share music with the Community
“We are pleased to welcome Canta Arya School for Strings to the Community Foundation family of funds”
Canta Ayra School for Strings celebrates their 15th anniversary in the Kingston community this year, and they used the occasion to announce the establishment of an endowment fund at the Community Foundation to positon their organization (a registered charity) for a strong future.
Canta Arya School for Strings is eastern Ontario’s leading school for Suzuki string education.They are committed to sharing their music with the community; believing that music performed for others is a step to bringing harmony in the world.
The Canta Arya team nurtures musical community through its recitals, concerts and workshops, performing at numerous fundraising events such as Voices for Africa, Empty Bowls for Martha’s Table, and the Kingston Symphony House Tour concerts. This year, in collaboration with Providence Manor Long-Term Care, Canta Arya will be presenting a series of concerts to the residents on a monthly basis.
Adding to their list of performances, we were grateful that several of their musicians came to perform at our recent Community Grants Celebration. If you missed it, you can check out a short video of their performance here.
